SANFORD MEISNER
Building on the works of Constantin Stanislavsky, Sanford Meisner developed the highly specific method with Steller Adler at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, teaching there from 1936 to 1990. Actors who credited 'Sandy' as the start of their success included Sigourney Weaver, Anthony Hopkins, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Lloyd, Dianne Keaton, Grace Kelly, and many more, often noted as being highly directable.
Esteemed director Elia Kazan once said, “Take it from a director: if you get an actor that Sandy Meisner has trained, you’ve been blessed.”
